Unfortunately, I recently attended a funeral of someone I used to go to church with. His wife is my 2nd cousin so we were also related. We were never close friends, but he was always kind and friendly to me and to my boys every time I would see him at church. I only saw him on Sundays and our interactions were brief but yet impactful. SO impactful. I moved away and when I left that church I stopped seeing him on Sundays.
When I attended his funeral, all my memories of the little ways he had influenced and impacted me through our brief, once a week interactions came flooding back suddenly. I wish I could have told him. I didn’t even know he was sick…
This experience made me realize that living a life of influence has absolutely nothing to do with your career position or status, your bank account or your social media popularity but everything to do with how you use the time on this earth that God has given you.
Do you see every moment you come into contact with someone else as an opportunity to bless them and show them the love of Jesus? Whether the time you have with someone lasts 30 seconds, 3 minutes or 3 years; how we use the time with others that God gives us is the true indication of whether we are living a life of influence that will leave a Godly legacy that will inspire and bless generations to come.
Question of the day: Are you living a life of (GODLY) influence and what kind of legacy will you leave?
